Loddiswell road closed for highway maintainance, but you can still get to Aune Valley!

Loddiswell road closed for highway maintainance, but you can still get to Aune Valley!

A road closure between Sorley Cross and Loddiswell Hill will cut off Aune Valley Meat butchers and Valley View Cafe but you will still be able to reach them - or you can order online!

Devon County Council are closing the road between Sorley Cross and Loddiswell Hill for "highway repair and maintenance works" from Monday, 6 July, for around two weeks.

This will affect access to the farm shop and cafe at the Aune Valley Loddiswell site, but they will be open throughout.

A spokesperson for Aune Valley said: "Although the road will be fully closed from the Kingsbridge direction, you can still reach us by approaching from Loddiswell and speaking to the traffic management team, who we have been assured, will allow you through if you’re visiting us.

"Please note that for the first four days of the closure, access is only possible from the Loddiswell side. From Friday, 10 July, customers travelling from either Kingsbridge or Loddiswell side can ask to be let through the closure, provided you are coming to shop or visit the cafe.

"We know these roadworks are likely to make the next week or two a challenging time for our small business, with no support from the council, so if you are able to support us, we’d be incredibly grateful. Whether you pop in for a coffee, some food or to grab your supplies from the farm shop, every visit will really make a difference to us and our wonderful team.

"If however, getting to us isn’t possible, you can still shop with us online and have your order delivered straight to your door, as we will be continuing our home delivery service throughout the road closure. You can also visit our Modbury High Street shop, who although smaller, will still be more than happy to help with your butchery needs. Thank you, as always, for your continued support, we really do appreciate every single one of our wonderful customers."

You can get round the road closure via Aveton Gifford or Woodleigh, but be aware that many more people than normal will be using those small roads, so expect some delays.
