Police are looking to locate a second victim after a "serious assault" took place in Totnes.

The incident, which saw two people attacked, took place on the High Street in Totnes between 11.50pm on Friday, 21 January, and 1am on Saturday, 22 January.

It is alleged that the suspect retrieved a weapon from a near-by vehicle and used this in the attack on the two victims.

One victim is a man in his 20’s who sustained a number of serious facial and head injuries.

We believe that a second person was also assaulted during the same incident but has yet to have contacted the police; the victims had just left the Barrel House Pub in Totnes prior to the attack.

Police are appealing for witnesses and urge the second victim to come forward as they could hold evidence vital to the investigation.
