South Hams police officers assist in finding woman with dementia - VIDEO
Kingsbridge Police officers took part in the hunt for a missing woman with dementia, after she went missing from Paignton.
Kingsbridge Police officers, along with the RNLI, HM Coastguard, Dartmoor Search and Rescue team Ashburton and Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service, assisted in the search for the woman who was in her 70s.
She went missing from the Broadsands area of Paignton, and was located by the police helicopter close to the edge of a cliff, having walked through thick undergrowth. She was wearing a coat and hat but only slippers.
The skill, and luck, of the helicopter crew to find her with the night vision camera is evident in this video from on board:
We have made a lot of noise this evening in Torbay assisting @DC_Police with a massive multi-agency search for a 75 year old lady who had failed to return home to her family.

Once she had been located, she rescued by Coastguard Rescue Teams from Torbay and Brixham, Torbay inshore lifeboat and police officers and carried on a stretcher through the undergrowth and taken home to her family unharmed.
A spokesperson for the police said: "This was a fantastic find by the helicopter as the incident could have ended very differently."
