A crash led to a motorbike catching fire, which spread to two other vehicles in Lee Mill this morning.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received a call at 7.25am this morning, Tuesday, 20 September, to a motorbike on fire following a crash at North Road, Lee Mill Industrial Estate.

While the fire crew was en route, the blaze spread to two parked cars.

The motorcyclist only had minor injuries.

A spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: "Our crew worked quickly to bring the fire under control, involving a motorbike and two cars, using one hose reel jet and two breathing apparatus, followed by a thermal imaging camera and environmental protection equipment.

"The motorcyclist suffered minor injuries and was rendered first aid on scene. An ambulance was not required. Once the vehicles were extinguished and the area made safe, duty of care was left with the owners of the vehicles awaiting recovery."

The situation concluded at 3.45pm.
