The South Hams will feature in Stage Two of the Tour of Britain race as the cyclists begin in Sherford and end in Exeter.

The event, which takes place in September, will begin in Penzance on the 5th before travelling through England and Wales before finishing in Aberdeen, Scotland, on the 12th.

The tour will come through the South Hams, namely Yealmpton, Modbury, Ashford, Aveton Gifford, Churchstow, Kingsbridge, Frogmore, Chillington, Torcross, Strete, Stoke Fleming, Dartmouth, Norton, Hemborough Post, Halwell, Harbertonford, Totnes and Ermington, on the 6 September.

The "UK's most prestigious cycling event" attracts some big names in cycling, and while the riders information has not yet been published, previous years have attracted the likes of Sir Bradley Wiggins, Chris Froome, Mark Cavendish, Geraint Thomas, Primoz Roglic, Julian Alaphilippe, Tom Dumoulin, Caleb Ewan and Tom Boonen.
