Five South Hams businesses are named winners in the South West Tourism Excellence Awards

Five South Hams businesses have won South West Tourism Excellence Awards, including three of our members.
Three SouthHams.com members, The Cricket Inn, Beesands; Bolberry Farm Cottages, Bolberry; and Gara Rock Restaurant, East Portlemouth; have been named as winners in the South West Tourism Excellence Awards at the award ceremony on Thursday.
The Cricket Inn, Beesands, has been awarded Gold in the Pub of the Year category and awarded Silver in the B&B and Guesthouse of the Year category.
Bolberry Farm Cottages, Bolberry, was awarded Gold in the Dog Friendly Business of the Year category.
Gara Rock Hotel, East Portlemouth, has been awarded Silver in the Wedding Venue of the Year category, and Commended in the Small Hotel of the Year category.
A spokesperson for The Cricket Inn, Beesands, said: "We’re extremely proud to have been awarded Silver for B&B of the year and Gold for Pub of the Year for the whole of the South West region at the Tourism Awards - South West on Thursday evening.
"It is a huge achievement in itself to still be standing after the last few years of adversity, let alone to be achieving these kind of prestigious awards. It is a true testament of our hardworking Cricket Inn team and to our loyal customers both local and those who travel from all over the country to visit us year in year out.

A spokesperson for Bolberry Farm Cottages, Bolberry, said: "We are thrilled to have been awarded Gold in the Dog Friendly Business of the Year category at the South West Tourism Excellence Awards at the Eden Project.
"We thank Hoseasons the sponsor of the category and extend our congratulations to silver winners The Plough Inn, Holford, Somerset, and bronze winners The Cottages at Blackadon Farm."
Another South Hams businesses that won big on Thursday were The Cottages at Blackadon Farm, who have been awarded Gold in the Ethical, Responsible and Sustainable Tourism category, Silver in the Resilience and Innovation category, and Bronze in the Dog Friendly Business of the Year category and the Self Catering Accomodation of the Year category.
The Calancombe Estate and Dartmouth Distillery Co were awarded Bronze in the Small Visitor Attraction of the Year category.
