Kingsbridge Town Council U-Turns on Christmas Tree
Kingsbridge Town Council has said "hold the humbugs and roll out the mince pies" as they confirm there will be a town Christmas tree.
Kingsbridge Town Council released a statement this morning (Thursday, 18 November) to say:
"Kingsbridge Town Council has paused…had a re-think and a Christmas Tree will be erected on the edge of the Town Square.
"Hold the humbugs and roll out the mince pies!!"
Kingsbridge Town Council made the decision in June to not have the usual tree, placed at the edge of Quay House grounds next to the town square, due to previous trees being “underwhelming” and that the location was “not a focal point”.
They recommended that there “should not be a Christmas Tree for 2021/22 and for no alternative”.
After a social media post by member of the Kingsbridge Celebrates Christmas committee Samantha Dennis this week, the town council has changed its collective mind.
