The team at the Bear and Blacksmith passionately believe in the importance of supporting local producers and sourcing only the best local ingredients for their customers.

We are very selective about the produce we use in the kitchen. With a smallholdings in South Allington, Sherford (new for 2019) and some land next to the pub (go and have a look!), we are now growing many of our own vegetables and salads, as well as rearing our own lamb, chickens and pigs. Keeping all this in-house enables us to ensure the quality of all our produce, and keep prices lower for our diners.
We have built our own butchery, this means we can hang our beef for the optimal time, and cut everything to our requirements, using the maximum amount of every animal – you can even order your own meat box from The Bear & Blacksmith Butchery.
As well as our daily changing Specials Menu we have:
Wednesday – Steak Night
Two Salcombe Meat Co Steaks, served with balsamic shallots, vine tomatoes, field mushroom and rustic chips, plus a bottle of house win
Thursday – Fish & Chips
Two portions of line caught day boat fish, battered and served with chips, pea puree, and our own tartare sauce
Sunday – Roast
Locally sourced meat served with all the trimmings
