Wills Marine, a mainstay of Kingsbridge for more than six decades, has just opened the UK's largest indoor boat showroom.

Wills Marine, founded in Kingsbridge in 1963, is taking on the new year with a "strong, driven and dynamic approach to the marine market" by offering a "new way to experience and interact with marine products".

The new showroom, located at Tor Quarry, offers 300sq/m of floor space across the showroom with a dedicated office and lounge for clients, as well as on-site parking. They also still have their shop at the head of the Kingsbridge Estuary.

A spokesperson for Wills Marine said: "By having a dedicated showroom space, on-site office and client lounge, we can curate a better experience for our clients, and showcase some of the best that the marine world has to offer.

"From our flagship boats, to Mercury outboards, to even the smaller quality of life products from Scanstrut and SBS Trailers, we a keen to create a hub centred around, strong, quality brands in a space that reflects them as best as possible."

As a rapidly growing marine dealership, they currently specialise in premium RIB and boat sales for companies such as Grand, Nordkapp, Gelex and Sting. They are also the UK's primary dealership for Mercury, facilitating a dedicated showroom for this, as well as offering a plethora of marine services such as storage, servicing, repairs, wintering, repowering, chandlery, and pre-owned sales.

The spokesperson continued: "We currently stock Grand, Nordkapp, Gelex and Sting, ranging from entry level tenders, yacht tenders, family leisure cruisers and overnighters all the way up to high performance RIBs and seacraft, fitted with some of the highest performance engines around:

  • Grand G680 - Incredibly popular leisure performance boat
  • Grand Drive 600 - Rising to become the go-to adventure boat - perfect for water sports Nordkapp Avant 705 - A classic in terms of design and heritage
  • Nordkapp Coupe 905 - The ultimate luxury cruiser - no frills, no compromise
  • Sting 530S - Excellent mid sized boat for family and friends, a good entry level model Gelex 390 - Heavy duty, low maintenance fishing boat

The ‘Mercury Racing’ Buzz

The big news surrounding Mercury Racing, is that Wills Marine are the first place in the UK to have done a Mercury Racing Outboard. They are very popular overseas, often used in marine motorsport and particularly reserved for enthusiasts, this is the peak of performance when it comes to outboards in the marine industry.

They have fitted this to a Grand D600, and have matched the design with the outboard to create a Grand D600 - Racing Special Edition available for pre-order exclusive to Wills Marine.
