Dartmoor Zoo

Dartmoor Zoo is a conservation wildlife park situated in the glorious South Devon countryside on the outskirts of Dartmoor National Park, just a 15 minute drive from Plymouth.

Open 7 days of the week, the Zoo that inspired the Hollywood film ‘We bought a zoo’ is home to hundreds of exotic animals, some of which are sadly classed as endangered or vulnerable to extinction.

From reptiles and birds to wolves and wallabies Dartmoor Zoo is also home to the largest variety of Big Cats in the South West.

Visitors can experience nature at it’s best in 33 acres of natural woodland offering truly wild and inspiring experiences.

There are daily animal talks and the opportunity for a once in a lifetime experience with some of our most popular animals, including our lions, tiger, meerkats, otters and many more.

We offer a range of parties for children and adults, team building activities, conferences, business networking and corporate hospitality, we are also licenced for wedding ceremonies.

Our Jaguar restaurant has ample seating and offers a wide selection of meals, snacks and drinks sourced from local suppliers.

We provide education sessions for schools and community groups and offer a ‘ Rangers’ academy for young people to learn about animals and their care. 

We are currently offering Armed Forces Veterans the opportunity to get involved in a Wellness through Nature programme and we regularly hold  Veterans Breakfast Clubs throughout the year.
