Bigbury Beach
Bigbury beach at Bigbury on Sea is a great sandy beach which all but disappears at high tide. It is one of the South Coast's best locations for windsurfing and dramatic coastal walks.
At low tide it is possible to walk to Burgh Island, walk around and perhaps take a drink at the Pilchard Inn. The hotel itself is exclusive to guests.
Access at high tide is via the unique 'sea tractor' which trundles through the water come high or low!
A wide slip way and steps through the dunes provide access to the beach for everyone, including wheel chairs.
Along the cliff edge are rock pools, ideal for small people who want to be marine biologists or simply scare their sisters with creepy crawlies! It's a great beach for families (there's a first aid room).

It's a fact !
Burgh Island Hotel is famous for being one of Agatha Christies' and Noel Cowards favourite hotels and where guests are still encouraged to dress in 1920s style. Exclusive and expensive, have fun guessing who else stays?
