Challaborough Beach
Challaborough beach is just behind Bigbury on Sea beach and accessed via Challaborough Holiday Park. It's a horseshoe shaped cove, surrounded by hills. It is sheltered and has sensational views over Burgh Island.
The beach is sandy but there are light stones and it reportedly shimmers under the moonlight should you have the chance for a late night stroll!
As the facilities of the Holiday Park are quite literally, by the beach, it is extremely practical for families of all ages. In addition to surfing there is also a small dive centre which has the ability to fill tanks, you will need to ring in advance though. Small boats can be launched from the private slipway. The drive down to Challaborough is narrow, long vehicles or trailers are not recommended, unless of course you know how to reverse!
There is a lovely steep coastal path walk that leads to Ayrmer Cove to the West and Bigbury on Sea just around the corner to the East.
