Sunny Cove Beach
Sunny Cove is accessed either by boat or by a 10 minute walk through the woods from the parking at Mill Bay.
Situated on the East Portlemouth side of the Salcombe Estuary almost opposite Fort Charles, the remains of Salcombe Castle. The beach is beautiful, the waves are relatively gentle so swimming is a pleasure.
Great for building sand castles, enjoying lazy BBQ's and catching the last of the sun as it drops behind Bolt Head.
A boating enthusiasts paradise in South Devon. A quick trip over the Salcombe bar for a blast, moor up on anchor and return to the beach with a swim, there really is no better way to unwind on holiday.

Look out for
The tide, when it comes it tends to come quite quickly and you don't want to get cut off. If you are hiring a boat, be cafeful with the swell, it can be a bit tricky. As a tip, point the bow out and load up!
It's a fact !
As recently as 2008 a ship filled with Gold Bullion worth millions of pounds was discovered by some local divers just off the shore!!
